Engr. Buba Galadima has been relieved of his appointment as as the Chairman of the Governing Council, Kano State Polytechnic.
Galadima is an ally of New Nigerian Peoples Party chieftain, Rabiu Kwankwaso who has fallen out with his godson, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The latter defection to the All Progressives Congress from NNPP fractured his relationship with Kwankwaso.
Viewed as a consequence of the rift between the governor and the former Minister of State for Defence, Galadima’s sack was made public via a statement signed by Abba’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Released on Saturday, Tofa announced that the governor has approved the appointment of the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir in Galadima’s place.
“Although the tenure of the Governing Council is for a period of three years, the appointment of the Chairman was terminated before expiration due to the ongoing reforms for optimal performance of the Polytechnic.
“Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to Engr. Buba Galadima for the services he rendered to the institution during his tenure as Chairman of the Governing Council.
“The Governor urged the newly appointed Chairman, the Emir of Gaya, to bring his wealth of experience, leadership and commitment to bear in repositioning Kano State Polytechnic for greater academic and administrative excellence,” it read in part.
