President Muhammadu Buhari has stated the main objective of why Boko Haram came into being.
Boko Haram, a phrase in the Hausa language means, Western Education is Forbidden.
The President, according to his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina in a statement he released, in which he quoted his principal, said the terrorist group was formed for the purpose of destroying Nigeria when the Executive members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria paid him their respects at the State House, Abuja.
“I just came back from Adamawa and Yobe States. During the visit to both states, I listened carefully to what the people and officials had to say. And they all said the situation had improved since 2015, especially in Borno State.
“Boko Haram was just fraudulent and a plot to destroy Nigeria. You can’t say people should not learn; the people need to grow intellectually,’’ Adesina quoted Buhari as saying.
