A wave of grief has reportedly hit Odogbolu Kingdom in Ogun State following the deaths of a prominent traditional figure, Chief Kabiru Amigboro, and his wife, who allegedly died just hours after him.

Chief Kabiru Amigboro, the Oluwo Ifa of Odogbolu, reportedly died after a brief illness, while his wife was said to have passed away later the same day following the shock of her husband’s death.

The double tragedy was made public by Ambassador Online TV in a condolence message to the Amigboro family and the people of Odogbolu Kingdom.

The platform, in its tribute, expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and the community over the loss of the couple.

Although details surrounding the incident remain sketchy, the reported deaths of the husband and wife within hours of each other have cast a pall of mourning over their family and associates.

Amigboro was a traditional title holder in Odogbolu, where he served as the Oluwo Ifa, a position associated with the practice and preservation of Ifa, the traditional Yoruba system of divination and spiritual knowledge.

The circumstances surrounding his wife’s death, including whether she had any underlying health condition, were not immediately known.

The family had yet to release further details about the incident or announce burial arrangements as of the time of filing this report.
