Chinedu Udoji of Kano Pillars has died in an accident on Sunday after his team, and Eyimba played out a single score draw in an NPFL day nine match at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

The news of the death of the centre back spread like a wild fire on Sunday night, and has been confirmed by his former employer in a post via the club side’s twitter handle.
“Chinedu Udoji was involved in a car accident yesterday after visiting his former team mates at Enyimba. This tragic accident happened along Club Road in Kano.
“Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, fans, and football lovers all across the country,” Kano Pillars stated on the Twitter account on Monday morning
Udoji had played for Eyimba for seven years and at one point he was the side’s captain. Report said the accident that killed him happened while he was returning to Kano Pillars Club House from the hotel players of the Aba Elephant lodged where he had gone to visit his former teammates.
