The former Super Eagles handler is asking the court to put to an end to the marriage on the grounds that Abiona was troublesome and stubborn.

The warring couple appeared before the court last week during which the court’s president, Chief Odunade Adewuyi adjourned the case to September 28.

At the weekend, Onigbinde said to Guardian about his issue with the wife, “It is true I filed to divorce my wife. I don’t think I should go into details because the case is in court, but for public knowledge, I want the public to know that I sued for a divorce because I want to live longer. The togetherness is no longer peaceful.

“I am 79 and I don’t want anything that would trouble my heart. We have been on the domestic issue for almost two decades and I think it is time to put an end to it.”

It will be recalled that in 2011, one of the wives of Chief Onigbinde, Chief Mrs. Regina Omobonike Onigbinde died at their Felele residence in Ibadan.
