Esinrogunjo came into prominence ahead of the general election following his spectacular style of campaign against the then government in power in the state with the moments captured on camera and shared widely on social media.
He has however lost out in the scheme of things in the Gov. AbdulRasaq administration with his relationship with the governor anything but cordial.
An audio of the APC chieftain throwing tantrum wherein he complained bitterly to his ‘supporters’ that the governor has not met his private interest and he is being provoked towards dangerous recourse has been leaked.
The 23-minute audio was subterraneanly recorded by fifth columnist(s) during his meeting with his supporters.
The audio replete with unguarded statements has gone viral earning the embattled comrade’s invitation to the Ilorin office of the Department of State Service, DSS, which launched investigation into his threat to kill Gov. AbdulRasaq twice earlier this week.
In the audio, Esinrogunjo, who spoke in Yoruba language with his ‘supporters’, said the governor was as corrupt as the ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki . He explained that the latter was country mile better than the former in terms of empowering his followers.
He accused the governor of excluding him from allegedly ongoing looting by not earmarking N2m monthly for him as security vote to deploy in catering to his followers.
He said there was a gang-up against him realising his next political ambition, which is to become the next Executive Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government area of the state due to his self-professed extravagance that would endear him to the state electorate, thus upstaging the incumbent.
Comrade Esinrogunjo in the leaked audio was also heard telling his guests he had a discussion with former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chairman in the state (now a chieftain of the ruling APC), Akogun Oyedepo, during which the latter predicted an implosion in the state APC.
He also told of his grandiose plan to take his mother abroad for medical treatment but for Gov. Abdulrasaq’s mistreatment of him, and pushed back at insinuation that the governor had settled him immediately after the election was concluded.
