A woman simply identified as Tawa, and her five-month old baby have died in Owo local government area of Ondo State.
Equally sad, is the husband’s situation; he is in critical condition in Federal Medical Centre (FMC) where his deceased wife was a staff until the unfortunate incident, which happened on Friday.
The family had a generator they just bought on Thursday evening when retiring to bed, with the fumes causing them harm, according to report in general circulation.
However, the police are not ruling out their application of insecticide in the residence before they went to bed.
“We have launched investigation into the cause, and are aware of the angle of generator fumes . However, there was a used snipper bottle in the house to suggest they applied it before retiring to bed,” police source said.
Sources said, Tawa’s elder sister was thrown into fret after repeated phone calls she made to the couple’s phones was not answered by her sibling and the husband.
Her search at their workplace didn’t produce positive answer necessitating her, others and neighbours to make a quick dash to their residence and met it locked.
Resulting into forced entry what confronted them was the dead body of the baby with the parents unconscious. The worst later happened to Tawa.
