Oluwaseun Osinbajo, the man at the centre of the deadly crash between Lagos State Government staff bus and a moving train in Shogunle area of the state has laid the blame of the mishap at the doorstep of the vehicle.
The last Thursday’s accident cost six persons working with the state government, one of them, Oreoluwa Julianah Aina, a youth corper, their lives with 79 others aboard the ill-fated staff bus number: 33 injured.
Osinbajo in common report, was responsible for the accident. He reportedly turned nose at the flagman’s warning and outcry of some passengers on board to allow the oncoming train to pass before crossing the railway track.
Accusation of not able to hear the train noise and flagman’s whistle due to earpiece he had on was equally thrown at him.
However, the 44-year-old has pushed back at the censure. He tried to clear himself in detention at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Yaba.
Vanguard reported that the publication overheard him telling his relatives, “It was not my fault. How could I have ignored warning signs? The bus had a mechanical fault. It is a pity this has happened. I beg everyone affected to please forgive me in the name of God.”
