Prosper Collins, elder brother to Late Samuel Collins, a 30-year-old corps member, who was shot dead on 24th June 2017 and robbed of his phone and money by unknown gunmen in Yenagoa, Bayelsa, has given an account of the incident.

Late Samuel(pictured) was a fresh graduate of Engineering from the University of Benin. And according to Police Public Relations Officer at the Bayelsa Command, Mr. Asinim Butswat, he was attacked by the hoodlums at INEC Road junction on his way to the Nigerian Content Development and Management Board’s office on Isaac Boro Expressway, where he was undergoing training.
Butswat said that preliminary investigation revealed that the killing was cult related adding that detailed investigation was ongoing to unravel those behind the dastardly act and apprehend them.
Prosper, the deceased’s elder brother, in a post on his Facebook page lamented the growing spate of crime in Bayelsa State just as he gave his own account of the killing.
He wrote, “What a Black and Dark Saturday, I was just at home, when MY Younger Brother Murphy
called on me with a deep Groaning Tone, shouting were are U??? 3 or more times, with tension and confessions, all I COULD SAY was what? Then the news so traumatizing, that my Younger Brother SAMUEL COLLINS, Has been killed by an unknown GUN MEN, LIFELESS BODY IN THE POOL OF HIS BLOOD, just at the entrance of his resident close to NDDC KPANSIA at the hours of 9:05pm 24th June 2017, His phone and Wallet was taken away; what is YENEGOA TURNING INTO, life’s aren’t secured or valued anymore, wow!!!! Oh death. What’s happening to our SOCIETY? MAY UR SOUL REST IN PEACE, ALL I CAN IS GOD KNOWS BETTER.”
