The paper said Sulu-Gambari’s redeployment was in bad faith and a fall-out of his presentation when he appeared before NASS panel investigating the stealing of senate mace during a plenary session on April 18, 2018 by hoodlums linked to
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
Gambari had implicated Senator Ali Ndume before the panel claiming the senator aided the hoodlums to carry out the dastardly act as he(Ndume) stopped him from carrying the mace for safe keep when Omo-Agege in tow with the hoodlums invaded the red chamber.
The DPO’s allegation against Ndume, according to the report, ruffled police authorities’ feathers as they are at logger-heads with the leadership of the senate.
“He is a victim of the power play going on between the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, and the Senate leadership”, the paper quoted a source as saying.
It added that Gambari’s replacement has already been named.
