A Superintendent of Police has been arrested for allegedly raping a female detainee in custody at a Lagos police post.
The suspect, Oladipo Afolayan is the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Magodo Police Post and was alleged to have forcefully had carnal knowledge of a detainee in his office.
Sources said Afolayan was arrested after his victim lodged a complaint with police authority.
It was gathered that the case has been transferred to the X Squad, a department at the state command which is in charge of investigating police crimes.
A conviction of rape under the Criminal Code is punishable with imprisonment for life, and the suspect faces life imprisonment if found guilty by a competent court. 
It would be recalled that few months back, another Lagos DPO, Mr. Adekunle Awe, was arrested for allegedly raping a woman, Idowu Akinwunmi ( her back view pictured), in his office at the Onikan Police Division.
