Dr. Funmi Soleye, ex-wife of renowned medical practitioner, Dr. Tunde Soleye, has dragged her domestic help, Helen Samaila, before a Magistrate’s Court, sitting at Igbosere, accusing the maid of stealing her(Funmi’s) jewelries worth $12,000 US Dollars(approximately N4.3m).

25-year-old Samailia was arraigned on Thursday before the court.
The accused, who resides at 69A, Josiah Omo Street, Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, is standing trial on a two count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing preferred against her by the Police.
The prosecutor, Corporal Friday Mameh, told the court that the defendant conspired with others who are still at large to commit the alleged offence.
He said the defendant a domestic house help stole her employer’s jewelries one Dr Olufunmilayo Soleye, on September 11, 2017, at about 1pm, at the address mentioned above.
Mameh also stated that the stolen jewelries was worth $12,000 Dollars which is equivalent to N4.2million.
The prosecutor said the offence committed is punishable under Sections 411 and 287 (7) of the criminal laws of Lagos State 2015.
However the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate B. A Sonuga granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum, who are tax payers.
He said the addresses of the sureties must be verified.
The case was adjourned to October 25, for mention.
