DRIVER REMANDED IN PRISON CUSTODY AFTER KILLING COLLEAGUE OVER MOTOR TYRE

A 40-year-old driver, Samuel Egurube, has been remanded in prison custody over the alleged murder of one Joseph Ogumba at Igumale in Ado Local Government Area of Benue State by a Makurdi Chief Magistrate’s Court.

The court heard on Tuesday that Samuel submitted himself to the police on January 25 after he fought the deceased who died in the fight. He told the police that during the fight over a motor Tyre, the deceased slumped and died, after which he was arrested in connection with the incident in accordance with Section 222 of the penal code laws of Benue State, 2004.

At the mention of the case, Samuel did not take a plea for want of jurisdiction, just as the prosecution said investigation into the matter was in progress.

Chief Magistrate Cecilia Bakare adjourned the case to March 18.

  1. im sure there’s no further investigation. he’ll just rot in the cell until finds some huge amount of bribe money to bail him out.
