The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has come under Investigation from the Department of State Security Service, DSS, over allegation of partly sponsoring hunger protest.

The protest against biting hardship imposed by the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration has turned violent with security agencies clamping down on protesters.

The latter have thrown accusation of the protest sponsorship at several quarters, four of whom are unnamed politicians of northern extraction while seven Polish nationals have been arrested in connection with Russian flags waved during some of the protests in the North.

The security agencies are just casting their nets wide in the bid to fish out those directly and remotely linked to the protest as the DSS on Wednesday raided NLC Abuja headquarters.

Report said it happened in the night when all occupiers had closed for the day and retired home.

“Fully-armed hooded operatives stormed NLC secretariat at 10pm and went straight to the 10th floor of the building where the office of the NLC President, Joe Ajaero, is located.

“They later returned to the second floor, where offices belonging to NLC are located,” impecable source told this medium.
