Four politicians of northern extraction are reportedly under investigations for allegedly having hands in the hunger protest.
The ten-day protest against the prevailing-biting hardship has a foothold in the north where it snowballed into violence resulting into vandalisation and multiple deaths.
Four politicians in the region are facing investigation over allegation that they are behind the use of Russian flags by some protesters in that part of the country.

It quoted one of the suspects as saying: “You see, four principal actors have been identified in this issue. They are top politicians from Katsina, Kano and Kaduna and the security agencies are closing in on them.
“They played prominent roles in the election of last year (2023).”
