Eight officials of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority have been arrested in a sting operation, the General Manager of the agency, Mr. Olawale Musa has said.
Musa said the suspects. who are attached to the Agege-Pen Cinema Office of the Agency, were arrested last week after allegedly receiving marked money from motorists who they set out to extort.

The General Manager gave their names as Adebeshin Adeola, Davies Idowu, Folashade Abolade, Shittu Lanre, Akinkotu Olusoga, Olowu Said, Olaoye Peter and Adebola Said.
Explaining how the officials were nabbed, he said the duo of Adeshina and Davies were arrested for collecting bribes from two commercial bus drivers, Olatunji Mayowa and Donatus Eze, at Abule-Egba area for seat belt violation.
Musa said the officials dragged the offenders to the agency’s Agege-Pen Cinema
Office, and with the General Duty Officer demanded for the sum of N7,200 from each of the bus drivers before the release of the buses.
The drivers in turn alerted the Agency, and marked currency were given to them and collected by the officials in a successful sting operation organised and coordinated by the Provost Marshal of the Agency, Mr Femi Ajibosho.
The case of the other arrested officers, according to Musa, was the same as that of Adeshina and Davies. and it equally happened at Agege.
