The governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State held on Saturday at Oluyemo Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti was suspended indefinitely.

The indefinite suspension was a culmination of trouble that erupted after other candidates accused the Election Committee under the chairmanship of Nasarawa State Governor Umar Al-Makura of unfairness in connivance with security agencies and compromising the process in favour of former governor Kayode Fayemi. a claim the latter’s supporters repudiated.
“The guideline stipulated that each aspirant can only bring in four supporters, but Fayemi brought many. His agents, including operatives of the Department of State Services, were issuing cards to delegates to fill when they vote for him so that they can later come for the money he promised them.
“I contested against Fayemi in 2007 and I know what I am talking about. The process has been compromised. Even Fayemi has been bragging around that he is a friend to Al –Makura, so we are disappointed that this could happen,” Chief Ranti Adebisi, the campaign organisation DG of Babafemi Ojudu, one of the candidates. told newsmen.
