Ekiti Government has threatened legal action against a female victim of COVID-19, who defied ban on inter-state movement to visit her soldier partner in the state.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr Mojisola Yaya-Kolade, issued this threat on Wednesday while bringing newsmen up to speed on the state’s share of the scourge.
Yaya-Kolade said the woman in question committed an offence against the state for allegedly importing COVID-19 and would face the music at appropriate time, adding that the state is not swayed by the fact that it was the victim’s husband who brought the matter to its attention.
“Though it was the husband who alerted us, it is an offence against the state and the Ministry of Justice will take appropriate actions against her at the right time,” he said.
