The media adviser to Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Muyiwa Adekeye, has raised concern about the health of the immediate-past Kaduna State governor.
El-Rufai is currently in the detention of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, after the latter’s counterpart, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that earlier quizzed him over corruption matters while in the saddle of Kaduna State granted him bail.
According to Adekeye, the embattled chieftain of the opposition African Democratic Congress, ADC, suffered a nosebleed while his wife was prevented from delivering his meal directly to him during his time in EFCC’s custody
Adekeye made those claims in a statement he issued on Monday where he said his principal had spent eight days in detention unjustifiably.
In his text, the media aide wrote that on the evening of February 17, while the former FCT Minister was in EFCC net one of his wives was not allowed to deliver his meal to him directly, and instead was asked to hand it over to an EFCC official for onward delivery.
The night of the same day, Adekeye recounted that El-Rufai suffered an overnight episode of bleeding from his nose, saying on the grounds of the incident his lawyers are demanding his access to his lawyers and family for health reasons.
