Commander of 81 Military Intelligence Brigade, Victoria Island, Lagos, Brigadier General Ahmed Taiwo, has confirmed that soldiers who left Bonny Camp military base to #EndSARS Lekki Tollgate protest scene on October 20 were in possession of live ammunition.
Taiwo made the confirmation on Saturday under cross-examination at the Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses & Lekki Toll Gate Incident.
However, the Commander maintained his stance that only blank bullets were fired at the protesters adding that the live bullets with the soldiers were a backup.
