Osunlola was said to have killed himself at his Ibadan residence in Oyo State.
Though as at press time, uncertainty still surrounded the manner in which he took his life, some reports claimed he hanged himself while others said he took poison.
However, all reports claimed the deceased recently lost his wife, and he used to be a full staff of KWASU before he was converted to part-time staff.
He got into depression following the two incidents, and started misbehaving, prompting his family and friends to seek spiritual help for him.
Reports said one of his friends whose name was not disclosed offered to assist him with a job at Landmark University, Omu Aran, in Kwara State but the deceased failed to submit his credentials.
In a statement released by Director, Public Relations, KWASU, Dr Isiaka Aliagan, the university confirmed Osunlola’s death.
The statement reads, “The Management of KWASU, Malete, would like to clarify that the late Dr Oluremi Solomon Osunlola, was a Lecturer 1 in the Department of Crop Production, College of Agriculture. He joined the services of the Institution on a full-time appointment in 2010
“However, during staff verification, it was discovered that the late Osunlola had already retired from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Kwara Office, before taking up a full-time appointment with KWASU.
“Despite the fact that the deceased violated the rule of his engagement, the University, in August 2017, converted his appointment to Contract, on compassionate grounds. This is all we can say about the late Osunlola.”
