The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a former Minister of Power, Sale Mamman, over alleged N22 billion fraud.
Mamman served as Minister of Power from August 2019 to September 2021.
The ex-minister, according to report, was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday by the anti-graft operatives in connection with the EFCC’s ongoing investigation into alleged corruption in the execution of some power projects.
Mamman’s trouble from the grapevine, was said to be the consequence of an alleged diversion of N22billion meant for the Zungeru and Mambilla Hydro Electric Power projects he allegedly partook in with some Ministry of Power top echelon during his time as Minister.
As at the time of this publication, the 65-year-old is still in the custody of the EFCC where he is subjected to interrogation over the said fraud.
