Plateau lawmaker dies after winning re-election 

 Afon, who initially won election into the House to represent Pengana Constituency of Bassa Local Government Area of the state on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had defected to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, under whose umbrella he was reelected at the weekend.

Report said leading up to the election he was unwell and only managed to cast his vote. However , few hours after he was declared winner, he was said to have slumped to death.
