Asaba, Delta State — Police from the Ubulu Okiti Police station Asaba, Delta State have launched an investigation following the arrest of a woman identified as Favour Obulor, after an alleged incident at a hotel in Delta State on July 2, 2025.
According to Police preliminary reports, officers responded to information provided by the management of a hotel in the town (names withheld) and subsequently took Favour Obulor into custody for questioning.
During the investigation, the police allegedly discovered implicating photos and video evidence in the suspect’s telephone which indicated that she has been romantically involved with other women.
Police sources told our correspondent that “the suspect mentioned another individual simply identified as Princess Duru as someone known to her. She also said that she has been in a romantic relationship with Duru for many years,” the Police source told our correspondent.
However, Police authorities say they are continuing with their investigations and are seeking to interview an individual simply identified as Princess Duru.
Investigators also emphasized that no charges have been filed against this person, adding that anyone mentioned during an investigation, persons of interest are presumed innocent, unless and until evidence supports criminality that warrants charges being filed against such individuals and subsequent conviction by a competent court of law.
Meanwhile, speculation on social media suggested that the individual may have fled the country.
In another twist, relatives of the alleged suspect maintain that the person departed the country weeks earlier to study abroad.
While speaking to Orijo Reporters, the Police urged the public to avoid spreading unverified rumors while the investigation remains ongoing.
A police spokesperson who spoke to our correspondent urged the public to remain calm and refrain from taking the laws into their own hands while the investigation is ongoing, emphasizing that “all individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.”
