Prince Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has stirred fresh controversy on social media after digging up an old photograph of Lere Olayinka, media aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
Fayose shared the throwback picture on Facebook while Olayinka was celebrating his birthday, accompanying it with a message mocking what he described as the media aide’s past as a shoe shiner and cobbler.
He also referred to Olayinka as his “former boy” and made a separate reference to an alleged connection with a land grabber in veiled reference to Olayinka’s boss, Wike.
The post immediately triggered mixed reactions, with some social media users treating it as political banter while others criticised Fayose for turning a birthday greeting into a personal attack.
The latest exchange is another episode in the public war of words between Fayose and Olayinka.
The two men have repeatedly traded accusations and insults on social media, particularly over political issues involving Wike and the Fayose family.
Their exchanges have previously spilled into legal proceedings, including a 2025 defamation suit involving Isaac Fayose and Olayinka.
Olayinka currently serves as Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to Wike.
He previously worked as a media aide to former Governor Ayodele Fayose, making the relationship between the two men particularly notable.
In June, 2026, a fact-check also addressed a separate viral image purportedly showing Fayose and Olayinka fighting, finding that the image was AI-generated and that there was no evidence of such a physical confrontation.
The latest birthday post, however, has once again brought their long-running social-media feud into the spotlight.
