The Federal Government has said that it would give universities in Kenya, Uganda and Niger which ways are not clean, the treatment it meted out to their counterparts in neighbouring Republic of Benin and Togo.
The government had suspended accreditation and evaluation of degree certificates from universities in Benin Republic and Togo after a reporter with Daily Nigerian on an investigative mission graduated from a Cotonou varsity within 6-week of his admission, awarded Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication from the Ecole Superieure de Gestion et de Technologies, and had his National Youth Service Corps despite previously observing the mandatory one-year scheme.
The Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman said sanction would be extended to more countries like Uganda, Kenya and Niger Republic.
Mamman stated this in an interview with Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Wednesday.
He said, “We are not going to stop at just Benin and Togo
“We are going to extend the dragnet to countries like Uganda, Kenya, even Niger here where such institutions have been set up.”
