The federal government said it has planned to hold a national conference.
The last time the country had one was during the time of Goodluck Jonathan as President with the report gathering dust.
The plan to have another one was unveiled on Friday by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.
It however, won’t take the form of the 2014 CONFAB or its like as per Idris.
The latter said, the proposal differed in the sense that it’s not a constitutional conference but a national orientation conference, seeking to arrive at what constitutes the right values in Nigeria.
“The previous ones were for constitutional reforms but this one is about all the key segments of the society coming together; youth, women, elders, religious leaders, professionals. There will be representation. We will come together to agree on the set values that we want to promote as a country so that everybody will move in that direction. The difference is that this is about value orientation that all of us will collectively agree on,” the minister told Punchng.
