Suspected armed robbers have killed a final year student of the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, Kogi State, Gabriel Adikwu.
Late Adikwu, an HND II student of the department of Computer Science was reportedly stabbed to death at his off campus apartment in Chelsea Lodge at about 9pm during a robbery operation.
The news of Adikwu who hailed from Otukpa in Nasarawa State came as a tragic shock to his schoolmates precipitating a protest and vandalisation of the polytechnic’s clinic.
As a result, the management of the polytechnic shut down the institution until August 6.
Confirming the incident, the personal assistant to the Rector of the polytechnic, Simon Omale, said Adikwu’s remains had been taken to his hometown for burial.
