A final year student of Ebonyi State University, Ogeh Bethel Chibuife, has been arrested for posing as National Youth Service Corps member.

Chibuife, according to report, has extra year arising from carrying over multiple courses but illegally joined Keffi NYSC camp for the 21-day orientation programme.

She was however found out during the headcount and is facing the unpleasant consequences of her action.

This is as per a statement police spokesperson in Nasarawa State, Ramhan Nansel released on Thursday.

Nansel wrote, “Investigation revealed that the suspect was a student of Ebonyi State University, Faculty of Management Science and Department of Public Administration.

“She confessed that she was supposed to have graduated in 2022, but had a lot of spillover courses, and in a bid to cover up the lies she had made to her parents, she went to the market and purchased NYSC uniforms/other items meant for corps members and sneaked into the camp in order to take pictures and send to her parents before nemesis caught up with her.”

He added that the suspect had been charged with criminal trespass, impersonation, and forgery at the Chief Magistrate Court in Keffi.
