One Thomas Ogbianawei has been killed in a community clash between Eniwari and Opuama communities in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The incident which happened on Saturday is traced to a football match between the two communities.
Trouble broke out in the course of the match as players engaged themselves in a fight.
Sources said at that time, spectators took no part in the fight but while some members of the visiting Opuama team were returning home, they encountered Thomas, an indigene of Eniwari and attacked the young man.
The latter, according to report, died from injuries he sustained in the attack.
Police spokesman in Bayelsa State, DSP Musa Mohammed, who confirmed the incident, said an investigation has commenced, and one suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing.
