Isyaka Abubakar, son of Major General Rabe Abubakar has posed the question of how the remains of his deceased father was recovered to Katsina State Government.
Recall that Major-General Abubakar was abducted alongside his wife, Hajiya Amina, on their way to Katsina, while their driver escaped with gun-shot injuries.
While the wife is still in the custody of the bandits, fifteen days into their abduction, report emerged that the former military spokesman passed away in the abductors’ hands.
Curiously his body found his way to government officials’ hands for burial, a situation, that perplexed deceased’s son.
“Many people saw the announcement that the funeral prayer would be held at six o’clock. People then asked me, ‘How was the corpse brought back?’ I replied that I cannot answer that question. Rather, the government should be asked about it. Even I myself would like to know how the corpse was brought,” he told DW Hausa service.
He also dismissed speculation that his mother has been released.
