Four people have starved to death in Kilifi County in Kenya after a pastor instructed them to fast, supposedly to save them from an imminent “painful death in the world”.

According to local reports, the deceased were members of Pastor Paul Mackenzie’s Good News International Church, who has been arrested for the catastrophe.

They died after going for days without food and water at Shakahola village in Magarini Constituency, multiple accounts from the East African country said.

By the reports, Pastor Mackenzie(pictured) talked his congregation into the long and dry fasting in order to meet Jesus and escape “apocalyptic damnation.”

In the course, the four died while eleven others were rescued by the police, who visited the scene on tip-off, and found a massive grave around it, but residents of the area, mostly Mackenzie’s followers stood in their way from accessing the grave.
