Four persons have been arrested following the disappearance of the corpse of an 86-year-old man, Joel Omiran, deposited in Sacred Heart Hospital Mortuary, at Lantoro, Abeokuta, Ogun state.

Late Omiran died at the medical centre arm of Sacred Heart Hospital a month ago, with his remains moved to its mortuary branch at the behest of his family, according to report in general circulation.

It said, three weeks back, the bereaved family checked on the corpse and found it intact and in good order.

They also conveyed their readiness to the hospital management to take possession of it for burial.

But having made the necessary payment and returned a week later to have their corpse for onward burial it was no where to be found, raising agitation.

This was followed by the bereaved family bringing police into the matter, and consequently on Thursday four persons were arrested, two of whom are mortuary attendants, an auditor and a plumber.

The latter was said to have helped the attendants to break the door when the keys to the morgue were misplaced.
