The governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State that was put in abeyance will come up in on Saturday.
The primary was under way on Saturday and had to be put on hold on account of trouble that erupted over allegation that the election process was skewed in favour of one of the candidates, Minister of Solid Minerals and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi by the umpire led by Nasarawa State Governor Umar Tanko Al-Makura.
The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, announced the date at a press briefing at the party’s National Secretariat, in Abuja, on Tuesday.
Abdullahi explained that the votes that were cast on Saturday had been cancelled and would not count saying the rescheduled election will be a fresh start.
He told newsmen, “Perhaps, more importantly, is that the exercise of Saturday is cancelled and would now be conducted this Friday, 11th of May, 2018.”
