Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC, have been partly blamed for the death of a Point of Sale operator on Monday in Abuja.
The unnamed PoS operator was killed on the morning of the fateful day by a hit-and-run driver driving a commercial bus.
The scene was near the Total filling station in the Berger area of the Federal Capital Territory, according to eyewitnesses.
The latter said the driver was operating a coaster bus and was escaping from FRSC officials who were on his trail in their vehicle when the former in top speed hit the PoS operator.
The last-mentioned, a woman, report said, was crossing the road from where she had gone to buy food when the escaping vehicle hit her.
“Neither the bus driver nor the FRSC officials pulled over to see the tragedy they have caused.
“The woman died on the spot and her body was lying on the road for hours,” eyewitnesses narrated.
