The five governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who flatter themselves on fighting for justice in the party have jetted out for the umpteenth time.
They are currently in the UK.
The five governors led by Gov. Neysom Wike have been against the Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, an opposition that proceeded from their demand for the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu to resign not being met.
Settlement between them and the PDP leadership is foreclosed going by The Nation, citing a source acquainted with behind-the-scene talks in the party, adding that in the UK, they would take a stance on who between the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, would get their support in the coming election.
It quoted the source as saying, “They have drawn the battle lines with Atiku. They have foreclosed any reconciliation. They will now meet at the poll to settle political scores.
“The G-5 governors have to choose between Tinubu and Obi. They have to consider all options, including the consideration of who has the strength or figures to defeat Atiku in the presidential poll.
“It is no longer about sentiments, but facing the reality on whose figures can add up to win the poll for power shift to the South, which is their ultimate objective.”
