Port Harcourt based Gospel artiste Bishop Fernandez, aka Jesus Freak is dead.
Details of the circumstances of the death of the singer, who was an on-air-personality, and a chorister at House on The Rock church was sketchy as the time of this publication.
However, it was gathered that he was crushed to death by a truck on Tuesday in Port Harcourt.
His friends on Facebook have taken to his page to mourn his demise.
One of them, Obi Patrick Chukwudi wrote: “brother, we’ve not met personally but we are friends on facebook since 2012, that is how I got to know you. your post inspired so many people, me inclusive, your personality I got to know thru your post, “fine boy with swag” that is what I say, anytime I saw you new dps. you got swag, your physique was intact, your voice no doubt was like that of angel. your lyrics was on point. All this I knew from people’s comment and I believed. yet you chose to sing for God with or without pay. Now, you are no more, so sad. I don’t have anything to say but this world is not our place. I will missed your regular inspired thought and your fine boy with swag dps. Rest on bro.”
Another, Bright Idele, posted, “I remembered back then in UNIBEN as a director of socials, I invited u severally to come sing at the various events organised by the Faculty of Arts, and even at ISD’s dinner/awards night, u came without hesitation, even when u knew there won’t be any financial benefits attached, U performed like u were heavily paid for it, u did it all, free of charge. Though we were in different departments, but u were known and loved by almost everyone in the faculty. Your sense of humour, ur love for football and sacrificial nature was easily noticed by everyone who knew u. And also not to forget ur love for God, u showed this in the church we attended then in Benin. It’s so sad to write this on your wall Bro. Very sad, but I am consoled knowing that u are in a better place, singing and performing for the most high. Sing on singer.”
