Ihediaoha gave the charge on Thursday on the back of alleged assault on a government official, Mr Jasper Ndubuaku by thugs loyal to Okorocha.
Ndubuaka, the Chairman of the Recovery of Government Properties in the state, had stormed the former governor’s residence on Spibatt Avenue, Owerri with his team allegedly in possession of a search warrant to recover some stuffs belonging to the state when he was attacked and beaten to stupor under the supervision of Okorocha’s security details.
The moment was captured on camera and went viral.
At a press conference prompted by the incident, the Secretary to State Government (SSG), Mr Uche Onyeaguocha, conveyed Gov. Ihediaoha’s distaste at it.
The governor went on to charge people of the state to arrest his predecessor in a citizen’s arrest order.
“We got a court order to recover stolen properties kept in Okorocha’s house and when we got to his house on Thursday, armed thugs attacked us.
“There are twenty government vehicles in his house, four Speed Boats, one movable Crain and generator sets, which we went to recover before the incident. “We will not give up the battle, we will go back to his house because the property belongs to Imo government,” Ndubuaku said at the conference.
