Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has ordered police investigation into the death of the state’s Commissioner for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement, Ibrahim Garba.
Garba was found dead on Saturday morning in his guest house located at 777 housing estate in Maiduguri, the state capital.
His body was found alongside that of a yet-to-be-identified woman. The latter met in unconscious state later died at the hospital where she was rushed to.
Police in Maiduguri have launched an urgent investigation into Garba’s sudden death at the behest of Zulum.
This is according to the governor’s spokesman, Isa Gusau in a statement he released where he conveyed his principal’s condolences.
It read in part, “The governor mourns alongside the late commissioner’s family, other loved ones, friends, associates, and members of the State Executive Council.”
