Sheda Zata, a veterinary doctor, has been killed by gunmen in Yola, the Adamawa State capital while his elder brother, Professor Adamu Zata, was abducted.
The incident happened at Girei, a Yola outskirt at the residence of Prof. Zata, a lecturer with Moddibo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) Yola.
According to report, it was the second time the lecturer would be abducted. The first occasion, his family reportedly paid N2m in ransom to secure his freedom.
This time around, Prof. Zata’s younger, Sheda, was a guest in his house when the marauding gang broke into the building and shot the deceased dead before whisking away the lecturer.
