A woman, identified as Mulikat Yusuf, has fainted in a Kwara court following the refusal of her divorce-seeking husband, Ishaq Abdulganiyu, to accept her plea for reconciliation.
The mild drama happened on Wednesday at Area Court in Centre Igboro in Ilorin.
“Am no longer interested in the marriage because we always have issues,” Abdulganiyu told Judge Toyin Aluko in Yoruba.
To this, the wife pleaded for mercy and reconciliation saying they have six children together.
But when the husband took his turn again at the proceedings and insisted on being done with the union, the mother-of-six fell into coma.
“When her plea for reconciliation fell on the deaf ears as her husband maintained his stance suddenly she fainted and people had to rush to the spot to lift her up from the ground, poured water on her head and placed her on the bench,” eyewitness narrated.
The narrative also has it that in conclusion the Presiding judge advised the distraught woman to make every effort to reconcile with her aggrieved husband and adjourned the till December 10, 2025, for a report on the reconciliation or continuation of the hearing.
