A popular Instagram cloth vendor, Adeshina Olayinka, known as Khadi, was found dead at a hotel in Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Khadi’s death hit the headlines by a statement the management of Wetland Hotel where she died issued on Saturday.
“To the general public and our dear valued guests, we regret to inform you that an unfortunate incident occurred at our hotel, Wetland Hotel.
“One of our guests passed away while staying with us. We are fully cooperating with the authorities in their investigation into this matter, and we assure you that we are doing everything we can to assist the police in their efforts to determine the cause of death,” the hotel said in the remark.
By all accounts, Olayinka, was found dead on Thursday.
Prior to her death, the deceased famed for her designer clothing and bags on social media, had reportedly informed a friend of having a date with a lover at the hotel on Wednesday night.
The succeeding day, the man checked out early in the morning alone, which prompted the receptionist to make a phone call for safety sake to the room where the lovers lodged.
The report in circulation added that Khadi’s response on picking the phone raised no alarm.
But hours later the unexpected happened; the receptionist had called the room number repeatedly to no avail to inform the guest of having overstayed and collect the power-bank lent to her. So took steps to go to the room only to meet her dead.
