Winner of the controversial Adamawa State governorship election, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, said his actual arch-rival was not the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, aka Binani.
Fintiri walked a long road to victory, and had earlier been declared loser by an usurper, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Hudu Yunusa-Ari.
The governor in an interview he granted Channels Television on Tuesday evening, said the election was actually between him and those having the impression that the country is their personal estate, alleging further that all Independent National Electoral Commission presiding officers involved in the election are closet All Progressives Congress members.
His remark, “I don’t think I have run against any woman in Adamawa State, I ran against enemies of democracy outside Adamawa State.
“I contested against the whole system, I contested against those who feel they own Nigeria from Abuja and they feel they can make Adamawa a scapegoat.
“Even in the election, I didn’t go into the election against the woman, I went into the election against INEC. The whole presiding officers that were conducting the election, all of them were APC members.”
