Hanan Buhari, daughter of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has expressed gratitude to those previously aggrieved with his deceased father and found it in their hearts to forgive him.
Buhari died on July 13 at a London clinic.
Report soon followed that his wife, Mrs Aisha Buhari, said he directed her to beg Nigerians on his behalf.
However, doubt was subsequently cast on the attribution to the former first lady following claim that the couple broke up long before the former President’s death, implying such conversations between them was impossible.
That said, in a recent interview with BBC Hausa, one of the five children they had together, Hana, said she would miss his sense of humour and also thanks those who forgave him.
“What I will miss most about him is his sense of humour. I look up to him as a part of me. I want to thank everyone who forgave my late father.
“On behalf of our family, we are grateful. We have nothing to say to them except thank God. He disciplined me to study, pray, and do things that made us happy.
“That is what I can say. But since Allah has decreed it, Alhamdulillah, I had the chance to be with him and read the Qur’an to him,” she said.
