A group, Nigerian Young Professionals Forum, NYPF, says one Mallam Ibrahim Bature has been arrested and detained since August 2017, for daring to speak against move by Katsina State Government to obtain loan.

The group made this claim in a statement where it accused the state governor, Mallam Aminu Bello Masari of violation of human right and oppression.
It reads in part: “This young man told Governor Masari of Katsina State not to go ahead to collect loan for health projects, and the following week he was arrested by the police.
“The Katsina State Government has charged him for defamation of character.”
