The whereabouts of one Police Inspector Kadiri Abimaje has remained unknown following the deadly attack on a mining site by gunmen at Fan, a community in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State.

Recall that on Tuesday bandits attacked a mining site in Fan killing twelve local miners, abducting three others while five were left injured.

Report indicated that the assailants ambushed the miners around 9:00 p.m while the victims were at work.

“Our people were carrying out their legitimate mining business in Fan of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area around 9 p.m. on Tuesday when armed men attacked them, killing 12 and taking away three others. Five people were injured in the attack,” the National President of the Berom Youth Moulder Association, Barrister Solomon Dalyop told newsmen.

News making the rounds has it that a police officer attached to Barkin Ladi Division was missing since the marauding bandits attacked the mining site.

“The officer’s name is Kadiri Abimaje. He’s an Inspector attached to Barkin Ladi Division, and was last seen on the day of the attack,” a police source told our correspondent on condition of anonymity due to non-authorization.
