Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has appealed to Nigerians to elect the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, because ‘it is his turn to chop’ (slang for eat).
Lalong, who doubles as the Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the APC made this remark last Tuesday in Ilorin on the party campaign trail.
The governor said, Tinubu has been supportive of others’ causes and free with money, so the time to reward his good deeds by favouring the former Lagos governor with election to enable him have access to the country’s treasury.
He spoke in pidgin telling the party faithful, and chieftains, “If you do me good, I’ll do you good. If you do good on the other side, we’ll do good on this side. That is Emi Lokan. Is that not Emi Lokan?”
“Asiwaju has done good. It is his turn, it is your turn, it is our turn. If you chop alone, you will die alone. He didn’t chop alone; so, it is his turn to chop. And that is why Emi Lokan is very important.”
