Airman Kalu Bernard, who shot his lover and colleague, Solape Oladipupo, aka Shomzy Shomzy, dead, on March 12, 2017, is to die by hanging.

The death sentence was handed down on Tuesday by a General Court Martial sitting at 101 Air Defence Group at the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) Base in Makurdi.
The convict was charged with eight counts of first degree murder, attempted murder among others, and was found guilty of six of the charges.
The President of the court, Group Capain Elisha Bindul in his judgement that took long hours before it was passed, sentenced 21 year-old Kalu to death by hanging.
Kalu found himself in this situation after Solape jilted him. He broke into the her Corporal and Below Quarters, Compound 9, Air Force Base, Makurdi, where he met her with her new lover, and shot her to death.
His attempt to shoot his rival was unsuccessful as his riffle failed him.
The deceased, who hailed from Badagry in Lagos State was survived by her parents, and a daughter, who she had when she was 16.
