Sunusi Bature, spokesman of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, has levelled allegations of taking sides with deposed Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, at the police.
Remember the police and other security agencies and courts under the federal government have been leaning towards Bayero.
The police authorities in the state also shunned eviction order issued by the state government to the 15th Emir of Kano.
Bature in an interview he granted Arise TV in which he threw the allegation of bias at the police said his principal would not back down on having Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the incumbent Emir.
According to him, “Aminu Bayero is an indigene of Kano, well respected and we don’t want anything to happen to him. He is not under any pressure to leave the state. As a very important personality, he has the right to move anywhere.
“The police have taken side at the moment and they seem not to be taking orders from the Governor.
“First of all, when Aminu arrived at midnight at a time when he and his family vacated the main palace, they took all their belongings from the main palace but he was convinced by some unpatriotic politicians to return to Kano and give a fight.
“For us, it’s a fight to finish because the Governor has the right to dethrone Emir, to reappoint Emir, to appoint a new emir or reinstate. He has the constitutional right and nobody can take that from him. Even if it will take us 100 years the governor has that exclusive right to depose or appoint a new emir.”
