The allegation that top civil servant, Engr Suleiman Bolakawu Agaka funded the campaign activities of the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party in the just-concluded local government elections in Kwara State has drawn the denial of the technocrat by proxy through his family.
A political group had in a report claimed Kawu sponsored some PDP candidates for the election.
In a statement signed by the spokesperson of the Kawu family, Bolaji Kawu, the family reiterated the commitment and dedication of Engr Kawu to the principles and ideals of public service, which he currently belongs.
The statements read: “It has come to the attention of the Engr Kale Suleiman Kawu Agaka’s family that certain individuals are circulating false reports alleging that Engr. Kale Kawu Agaka, a respected public servant, has been involved in supporting candidates of a party during the recent local government elections in Kwara State. We categorically deny these baseless claims and wish to clarify the following:
“Engr. Kale Kawu Agaka is a dedicated civil servant with a longstanding career in public service. He is committed to upholding the ethics and principles governing civil servants in Nigeria. These principles strictly prohibit involvement in partisan politics, a guideline that Engr. Kawu has always adhered to.
“As a civil servant, Engr. Kawu’s responsibility is to support and implement policies of the Federal Government of Nigeria, irrespective of political affiliations. He has always remained focused on the duties of his office, serving the public interest with integrity and impartiality.
“The fabricated reports suggesting his involvement in party politics are nothing more than an attempt to tarnish his reputation and mislead the public.
“Engr. Kawu does not support any political party or candidate and remains fully committed to his role as a neutral and ethical civil servant.
“We urge the public to disregard these false claims and avoid being misled by misinformation. Engr. Kale Kawu Agaka will continue to serve diligently, upholding the values of transparency, professionalism, and commitment to the development of Nigeria.”
